Rhinoplasty for Asians: What Makes it Different

Are you of Asian ethnicity? Are you thinking of getting a nose job? If you want to know what makes rhinoplasty for Asians different than that for Caucasians, read on.

What You Should Know About Rhinoplasty for Asians

Basically, the goal for both Asian and Caucasian rhinoplasty is the same: to improve the appearance of one’s nasal structure. But this is where the similarity usually ends.

Caucasians usually request for nose-reduction procedures while Asians usually need nose augmentations or “nose lifts” to increase the height of the nasal bridge. Because Asian noses tend to have a wider base, a lot of surgeons also recommend an alar plasty operation to decrease the base.

Before you undergo any treatment, make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page when it comes to how you want your rhinoplasty to be done. Also, make sure that you’ve got enough funds for two procedures, just in case you need to have alar plasty as well.

Good luck!
