How to Cope After Rhinoplastic Surgery

Did you just undergo cosmetic surgery on your nose? What to expect after you go under the knife? Here’s a low-down on what you should expect after rhinoplasty on your nose and what you can do to aid recovery.

Recover Quickly from Surgery With These Tips

The First 24 Hours
In the first 24 hours, expect a great deal of discomfort. Your face will feel swollen, your nose will ache and you might get a headache. You should try to spend the day in bed, with your head slightly elevated. Try not to walk around too much and get someone to assist you whenever you need to take trips to the bathroom.

The Following Days
For the next couple of days, you’ll experience the swelling around your face increase. You can use cold compresses to help it go down. Don’t worry about it, though, it’ll disappear completely in about two weeks.

The Next Few Weeks
Try to avoid strenuous physical activity for the next two to three weeks. Also, avoid going under the sun for eight weeks. Also refrain from rubbing your nose and be careful when washing your face.

In a nutshell, in order to recover quickly from rhinoplasty, take it easy. Rest well and you’ll be back on your feet soon.
